El-Fasher Relief Fund

On October 26, 2025, the world witnessed unspeakable atrocities in El-Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Hemedti, launched a brutal assault that left thousands dead and countless others wounded and truamatized. According to the Human Rights Watch, the RSF takeover marked the culmination of an 18-month seige that led to famine, disease, and widespread suffering.

We're a group of young Darfuri girls across the United States raising funds to provide:

1. Blankets, warm clothing, and footwear

2.Food and clean water

3.Medication and hygienic products

4. Baby formula and basic necessities

All donations will go directly to GiveDarfur.org, a trusted nonprofit with deep roots in Darfur. They are working on the ground to deliver aid to the Tawila camp.

Every dollar helps. Every share mattters. Every voice counts.

School Supplies for Sudan

Sudan is facing the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with over one-third of its population in urgent need of aid. The ongoing conflict has displaced millions, leaving Sudanese children especially vulnerable. Many of these children have fled to neighboring countries like Egypt in search of safety, but they are still facing immense challenges in accessing education. Currently, 5 million children are displaced, and over 19 million are out of school, with 90% of schools either non-operational or inaccessible. Sudanese children aren’t just missing out on education—they’re losing their chance at a better future.

Sudan Benefit Fundraiser

In response to this dire situation, the Sudan Benefit Fundraiser (SBF) was initiated as a mutual aid effort during Ramadan 2024, organized by the Sudanese Diaspora Network (SDN) a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation. During Ramadan, SDN selects a theme and beneficiaries that address urgent issues in Sudan each year.

Given that 30.4 million people in Sudan now require humanitarian aid, this year’s SBF extended its activities beyond Ramadan and continues to provide support a year later. Our campaign initially began with supporting three organizations, and through your generous donations, we extended that to support 12 organizations providing critical humanitarian aid to Sudanese families in need.

Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition (MASC)

MASC is a partnership between Sudanese mutual aid groups, notably the Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs), and international supporters and aid experts committed to providing direct, flexible funding to local groups addressing Sudan’s humanitarian crisis. The ERRs are community-based networks of Sudanese volunteers that organize local humanitarian response during the ongoing conflict. Unlike traditional models, the Coalition adapts its approach to support mutual aid actors on their terms.

The Coalition was formed to address the disparity between the success of informal groups in delivering aid and the minimal direct funding they receive, currently less than 1% of international humanitarian funding. By offering mechanisms for rapid, cost-effective fund transfers, the Coalition supports a highly-decentralized network of Sudanese organizations according to their humanitarian priorities.

Hope for a Newborn Family After Losing Their Home

Mohammads message:

"Hello, my name is Mohammed Al-Shawaf, my nickname is Hamoud, and I’m 24 years old.

I’ve lost all my dreams. I got married during the war, I have a daughter, and my wife is pregnant. I lost my home. I lost my sister’s child, my cousin, and my nephew in the war, and they’re still under the rubble. I’ve been living in a tent for a year and a half.

We’ve been targeted more than three times. We’ve already left our area under fire and shelling. I live with my mother and my five siblings. They’ve lost their homes, their money, and their jobs, and they have nothing.

We don’t have the money to buy flour because it costs $40 a kilo, and there’s no food. We’re facing a real famine. We all live together in a small, rented place where there are flies, mosquitoes, and insects. We go to sleep hungry.

I hope you can help us by donating to provide food and water and keep us alive."

Help for my friend Tayseer

Help Tayseer Obaid and His Family Survive War and Starvation in Gaza

My name is Tayseer Obaid. I am a 37-year-old father from Gaza. In normal times, my life was dedicated to providing for my wife and our ten children. Today, it is dedicated to a single, daily goal: keeping them alive.

Our home was destroyed in the war, and we now live in a makeshift tent encampment, exposed to the elements and constant danger . When the winter cold and rain became unbearable, I was forced to dig a hole nearly two meters deep in the clay soil and cover it with a tarpaulin to give my children some shelter from the cold . It breaks my heart to say this, but I once told a reporter, "If I had a better option, I wouldn't be living in a hole that looks like a grave" . I live in fear that a nearby explosion could cause the soil to collapse on us all .

Our struggle does not end with shelter. Every single day is a battle against starvation. I spend my days desperately searching for food for my family. Prices for basic goods have skyrocketed, some days, the best I can provide is a cup of tea and some milk to share among us . We have been reduced to surviving on a few loaves of bread, we break the bread and share it, often with nothing to dip it in. We have forgotten what a proper meal is.

The quest for food is itself deadly. Aid is scarce and difficult to reach. We have reached a level where we say goodbye to our children before going to get aid, because I might go and not come back. I have seen others leave for aid and never return. My children are not just hungry; they are vulnerable to disease. A lack of nutrition has left them weak and susceptible to illnesses like jaundice, which can lead to severe complications .

We have lost everything, but we cling to the hope that humanity has not forgotten us. Your support can provide us with the basic necessities we need to survive: nutritious food, warm clothing, and blankets to protect my children from the cold.

Grassroots Response was founded by people who believed they could make a difference. What we didn’t realize at the time was just how immense the struggle would be for these families. Many have lost everything—homes, livelihoods, and loved ones—due to the ongoing war and bombing in Ukraine. Since 2022, we’ve gathered hundreds of volunteers to help over 4,500 Ukrainians find housing.

The majority of people who are asking for help are the people who tried to start a life in Canada but are struggling because lack of employment, limited social connections, and housing. We need continuous donations in order to support them.
